The White House is set to announce a major update to its Bitcoin strategic reserve policy in the coming week. The initiated plan, developed by President Donald Trump through an executive order, intends to standardize and preserve approximately 328,000 BTC valued at $25.1 billion presently held by the U.S. government. Lawmakers are also pushing to formalize the American Reserves Modernization (ARMA) act, which aims to standardize and institutionalize the country’s crypto holdings.

The proposed plan comes despite a surge in institutional inflows into the crypto industry and ongoing arguments over BTC governance. Officials have outlined the need for a “Goldilocks zone” between innovation and regulatory stability, according to Patrick Witt, underscoring the essence of systemic improvements in terms of digital assets.

Congress Backing to Formalize Reserve Strategy

The former BITCOIN Act, now known as ARMA, emphasizes a plan for the U.S. to purchase up to one million BTC over a five (5) year period utilizing a cost-neutral approach. The approach is to strengthen the executive order by assuring long-term stability and the continuity of the bitcoin reserve. The legislation, supported by Representative Nick Begich and Senator Cynthis Lummis, pushed the realization that legal support is necessary to preserve and increase the government’s holdings, which is comprised of seized assets.

Reinforcement of Institutional Inflows in Crypto Markets

According to CoinsShares, the largest sustained inflow trend is approximately $1.2 billion. Bitcoin reported $932.5 millions of these inflows from U.S. spot ETFs, with total Bitcoin-related assets of about $155 billion.

CoinsShares added that the rise shows expanding institutional demand in the crypto market, which influenced traders’ perception of the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decision and its possible macroeconomic outcome.

Future Prediction for Bitcoin Reserve Policy

Bitcoin markets may experience increasing pressure on prices if the White House reports the involvement of aggressive accumulation targets or cost-neutral approach. Nonetheless, if ARMA fails to pass, regulatory ambiguity may alleviate investors’ excitement despite a strong inflow.

Thus, the U.S. will shift toward standardize Bitcoin reserves strategy as a possible global metric, which could possibly speed international adoption of digital asset and enhance financial regulatory lucidity across countries.
