Market Overview
Digital asset markets entered September 11 in Asia under renewed macro pressure after U.S. producer inflation, surging crude oil prices, and rising Treasury yields strengthened expectations for another Federal Reserve rate increase. CoinGlass placed Bitcoin near $76,723, down approximately 1.9% over 24 hours and 5.6% over seven days. Ethereum traded around $2,436, down about 0.9% over 24 hours and 2.3% over seven days, while XRP fell to approximately $1.34, down 3.8% over 24 hours and roughly 8% over the week.
The latest inflation data reinforced the higher-for-longer rates narrative. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Producer Price Index for final demand rose 0.4% in August after a revised 0.1% increase in July. Producer prices were 5.4% higher from a year earlier, compared with 4.8% in July. Goods prices increased 1.1% during the month, while services rose 0.1%.
The monthly PPI increase matched the Reuters economist consensus, but the 5.4% annual rate was slightly above the 5.3% expectation and confirmed a renewed acceleration in wholesale inflation. Energy prices increased 4.2% during August as the U.S.-Iran conflict disrupted global crude flows. CME FedWatch pricing subsequently placed the probability of at least a 25-basis-point Federal Reserve increase at the September 15-16 meeting near 70%, up from roughly 62%-64% before the data.
Energy markets provided an even larger inflation shock. Reuters reported that Brent crude surged more than 6% on September 10 to settle at $107.63 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate reached $102.48. The move followed an escalation in tanker attacks, continued disruption through the Strait of Hormuz, and increased pressure on alternative Red Sea shipping routes. Both major crude benchmarks are now above $100.
The inflation repricing drove another global bond selloff. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield approached 4.95%, its highest level in nearly three years, while the 30-year yield reached its highest level in more than 19 years. Higher sovereign yields simultaneously increase the discount rate applied to risk assets and raise the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets such as Bitcoin.
The Treasury’s expanded buyback operation failed to reverse that pressure. The U.S. Treasury accepted approximately $5.19 billion of 10-to-20-year securities in its September 10 liquidity-support operation, below the announced $6 billion maximum despite receiving roughly $10.5 billion of offers. Reuters reported that long-duration yields continued rising afterward, demonstrating that liquidity-support operations remain too small to offset inflation, fiscal-supply, and geopolitical forces affecting the roughly $32 trillion Treasury market.
Traditional risk markets weakened alongside crypto. The S&P 500 declined approximately 0.6% on September 10, the Nasdaq Composite fell roughly 0.7%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost about 0.6%. The S&P 500 has now declined for four consecutive sessions as oil, yields, and monetary-policy expectations tighten financial conditions.
Institutional cryptocurrency flows remain differentiated rather than uniformly bearish. Farside Investors recorded $120.2 million of Bitcoin ETF redemptions on September 9 following $46.6 million of outflows on September 8. Its preliminary September 10 row showed another $45 million of net redemptions among funds that had reported, with several major products still incomplete. The latest confirmed weakness therefore represents a multi-session deterioration in Bitcoin fund demand, although September remains net positive because of the $730.8 million inflow recorded on September 3.
Ethereum funds have shown greater resilience. Farside Investors recorded $34.7 million of net Ether ETF inflows on September 9 after a $24.3 million outflow on September 8. Preliminary September 10 reporting was approximately flat among the products already updated, with offsetting flows in Grayscale’s two Ethereum vehicles and most major issuers still unreported.
XRP funds continue to outperform on relative flow stability. SoSoValue data showed approximately $12.29 million of net XRP ETF subscriptions for the September 9 U.S. session. Bitwise attracted approximately $9.3 million and Grayscale approximately $3 million, lifting cumulative U.S. XRP ETF net inflows to roughly $1.70 billion and net assets to approximately $1.51 billion. Complete September 10 XRP ETF data were not yet independently verified at publication time.
Market sentiment remains surprisingly elevated relative to current price action. Alternative.me places the Crypto Fear & Greed Index at 69, classified as Greed, compared with 66 one day earlier, 65 one week earlier, and 29 one month ago. Because the index updates daily rather than continuously, the current reading partly reflects sentiment before the latest PPI-driven decline. The divergence between still-bullish sentiment and weaker spot prices therefore warrants caution.
Institutional adoption continues even as markets de-risk. Reuters reported on September 10 that Nasdaq’s venture arm will invest $100 million in Payward, the parent company of Kraken, as the two companies expand infrastructure for tokenized-equity trading. The transaction does not create direct demand for BTC, ETH, or XRP, but it demonstrates that traditional exchange operators continue building blockchain-market infrastructure through the current macro correction.
The next decisive macro event is the August Consumer Price Index. The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release CPI on September 11 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time, or 21:30 in Tokyo. Street expectations center near 3.4% annual headline inflation, unchanged from July, while market calendars generally expect approximately 0.4% monthly headline inflation and 0.2% core inflation. Following the PPI acceleration and Brent’s surge above $107, the CPI result has become the final major inflation signal before the Federal Reserve decision.
Bitcoin Market Analysis
BTC Narrative
Bitcoin is trading near $76,723 after falling below $77,000 during the post-PPI risk-off move. CoinGlass shows approximately $60.0 billion of 24-hour Bitcoin futures turnover against $4.74 billion of spot activity, while futures open interest stands near $52.97 billion. Approximately $121.5 million of Bitcoin futures positions were liquidated during the latest 24-hour period.
The decline represents a significant test of the institutional recovery that began in August. Bitcoin is now approximately 7% below the recent $82,000-plus high and has declined about 5.6% over seven days. The asset remains well above its early-August levels, but the market has moved from repeatedly testing $80,000 resistance to defending the upper-$70,000 and mid-$70,000 support structure.
The primary driver is the rapid increase in the real-rate hurdle. Producer inflation accelerated to 5.4%, Brent crude settled above $107, and the 10-year Treasury yield approached 5%. Those conditions reduce the attractiveness of leveraged Bitcoin positions and strengthen the relative appeal of cash and short-duration government securities.
ETF flows have also shifted from support to near-term supply. U.S. spot Bitcoin funds recorded $46.6 million of net redemptions on September 8 and another $120.2 million on September 9. The September 9 outflow was led by approximately $78 million from ARKB, $27.2 million from GBTC, and $19.5 million from BlackRock’s IBIT, partly offset by approximately $4.5 million of Morgan Stanley inflows.
Preliminary Farside data for September 10 showed approximately $45 million of additional redemptions among products already reporting. Bitwise lost approximately $12.6 million and GBTC approximately $36.4 million, while Morgan Stanley attracted roughly $4 million. Several larger issuers remained blank in the latest table, so the final daily total could differ materially.
The broader institutional picture remains more balanced. The six fully reported September sessions through September 9 still generated approximately $603 million of net Bitcoin ETF inflows because the $730.8 million September 3 subscription surge outweighed subsequent redemptions. The correct interpretation is therefore that institutional demand has cooled sharply rather than disappeared.
Derivatives leverage is also declining. Open interest near $53 billion is materially below the approximately $57-$58 billion region reached during Bitcoin’s recent moves above $81,000. Falling price accompanied by falling open interest indicates that leveraged longs are being removed rather than traders aggressively adding new directional exposure.
Futures activity remains approximately thirteen times larger than reported spot turnover, however, leaving Bitcoin vulnerable to another liquidation cascade if technical support fails. The current $121 million-plus Bitcoin liquidation total illustrates how quickly macro shocks can propagate through a market where leveraged turnover substantially exceeds underlying cash liquidity.
The Treasury buyback did not provide the liquidity relief that some risk markets had anticipated. Only about $5.19 billion of the $6 billion maximum was accepted, and long-end yields continued rising. The result reinforces an important distinction for Bitcoin investors: Treasury buybacks can improve market functioning, but they do not neutralize inflation expectations, fiscal supply, or Federal Reserve tightening risk.
A separate Bitcoin ecosystem risk remains in the background. The Bitcoin-based Liquid Network said earlier this week that approximately $320 million was withdrawn from its federation wallet, prompting a halt to new network transactions. The incident concerns a federated Bitcoin sidechain rather than the Bitcoin base-layer protocol, but it serves as a reminder that infrastructure, bridge, and custody risks remain relevant even when the underlying blockchain continues operating normally.
The longer-duration technical structure has not fully deteriorated. Bitcoin recently produced its first 50-day-over-200-day moving-average golden cross since May 2025. That signal supports a medium-term recovery thesis, but it cannot override immediate macro conditions. Price must regain the $80,000-$83,000 region before the moving-average crossover becomes meaningful confirmation rather than a lagging indicator of August’s rally.
BTC Technical & Liquidity Structure
Immediate support is concentrated between $76,500 and $76,700. Bitcoin reached approximately $76,650 during the initial PPI reaction, making this area the first tactical boundary separating stabilization from another leg lower.
The stronger institutional support remains between $75,500 and $76,000. Previous technical analysis identified approximately $75,674 as an important downside reference, and the region contains substantial trading activity from the August breakout. A controlled test of this zone would remain compatible with the medium-term recovery if ETF redemptions moderate and open interest continues declining.
Below $75,500, the next major structural demand region lies near $71,500-$72,000. A sustained daily close below that corridor would represent a materially more bearish development and would indicate that the August institutional breakout is losing structural support.
Immediate resistance has shifted to $77,500-$78,500. Bitcoin must first recover this former support region before another test of $79,500-$80,000 becomes credible.
The stronger continuation zone remains $82,000-$82,800. A confirmed daily close above approximately $82,800 would indicate that ETF redemptions, PPI pressure, and the oil-driven rates shock had been absorbed and would reopen $85,000 followed by $88,000-$90,000.
The preferred institutional configuration is stabilization above $75,500-$76,500 while futures open interest continues to contract and ETF flows return toward neutral. A fast rebound generated by another increase in leverage would carry substantially less credibility than a recovery supported by spot turnover and regulated fund subscriptions.
BTC Forecast
The base case is volatile consolidation between $75,500 and $80,000 through the CPI release, with a defensive short-term bias while Bitcoin remains below $78,500. A CPI reading at or below consensus could reduce the current 70% Federal Reserve hike probability and support a recovery through $78,500 toward $80,000-$82,800. A hotter inflation result, particularly if Brent remains above $105, would increase the probability of a break through $75,500 toward $71,500-$72,000. A sustained close below $71,500 would materially weaken the August recovery, while a close above $82,800 would restore the expansionary medium-term scenario.
Ethereum Market Analysis
ETH Narrative
Ethereum is trading near $2,436 after declining approximately 0.9% over 24 hours and 2.3% over seven days. CoinGlass reports approximately $41.1 billion of 24-hour Ethereum futures turnover against almost $4.0 billion of spot activity, with open interest near $33.22 billion. Approximately $89.6 million of ETH futures positions were liquidated over the latest 24-hour period.
Ethereum has so far absorbed the macro shock better than its higher-beta profile might imply. ETH remains above the $2,350-$2,360 region identified in recent Reuters technical analysis as the invalidation level for its current bull-flag structure. The pattern developed after Ethereum rallied approximately 37% over ten sessions to a peak near $2,564.
The institutional fund picture remains more resilient than Bitcoin’s. U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded $34.7 million of net inflows on September 9 after losing $24.3 million on September 8. BlackRock’s staking-focused ETHB attracted approximately $22.9 million, ETHA added roughly $9.7 million, and 21Shares added approximately $2.1 million.
Preliminary September 10 Farside data were approximately flat among the products already reported. Grayscale’s legacy ETHE recorded approximately $7.7 million of redemptions while its lower-fee Ethereum fund attracted approximately the same amount. Most large issuers remained incomplete, making the preliminary zero unsuitable as evidence that institutional demand disappeared.
The contrast with Bitcoin remains notable. Bitcoin funds have experienced consecutive confirmed redemptions, while Ether products returned to positive territory on September 9. This relative flow resilience suggests institutional investors are maintaining Ethereum exposure despite the global rise in rates.
The principal vulnerability remains derivatives concentration. Ethereum futures turnover is more than ten times reported cash-market volume, and open interest above $33 billion remains close to levels seen during the late-August rally. Ethereum therefore retains considerably more embedded leverage than XRP and remains vulnerable to outsized moves if the CPI report surprises.
The technical structure nevertheless remains constructive on a medium-term basis. Reuters analysis estimates that a completed bull-flag breakout could project toward approximately $3,050, a region corresponding with January resistance around $3,040-$3,060. The projection is conditional and would be invalidated by a sustained break below approximately $2,350-$2,360.
Ethereum’s structural supply backdrop also remains supportive. ETF custody, staking, and large corporate treasury holdings continue removing ETH from immediately available exchange liquidity. Those supply constraints increase the market impact of marginal institutional demand once derivatives selling subsides.
The wider tokenization narrative continues to strengthen. Nasdaq’s $100 million planned investment in Kraken’s parent to develop tokenized-equity infrastructure confirms that traditional exchanges are increasing their commitment to blockchain-based securities markets. The initiative does not guarantee Ethereum usage, but it reinforces the institutional tokenization theme in which Ethereum remains a major public settlement network.
The immediate direction remains tied to U.S. inflation. Ethereum’s higher macro beta means softer CPI would likely produce a larger percentage response than Bitcoin, while a hot print combined with Treasury yields near 5% would place the $2,350-$2,360 technical invalidation zone directly at risk.
ETH Technical & Liquidity Structure
Immediate support is concentrated between $2,400 and $2,425. Ethereum remains above this psychological and liquidity corridor despite the PPI-driven rates shock. Continued acceptance would preserve the current consolidation structure ahead of CPI.
The critical structural support remains between $2,350 and $2,360. This is the Reuters bull-flag invalidation area and therefore carries greater significance than an ordinary intraday support zone. A sustained daily close below it would materially weaken the medium-term technical thesis.
Below $2,350, the next substantial demand region lies between $2,250 and $2,300. A break below $2,250 would expose approximately $2,180-$2,200 and imply that much of the August institutional repricing had been surrendered.
Immediate resistance lies between $2,470 and $2,500. Ethereum must recover this corridor before another attempt at the $2,550-$2,565 late-August high becomes technically credible.
A confirmed close above $2,565 would strengthen the bull-flag continuation scenario and expose $2,700-$2,800. The larger technical projection near $3,050 would remain conditional on sustained institutional demand and a substantial improvement in the global rates environment.
The preferred institutional liquidity structure is ETH maintaining $2,350-$2,400 while open interest declines and ETF demand remains positive or neutral. A breakout above $2,565 accompanied by higher spot volume would provide materially stronger confirmation than an expansion generated primarily through futures leverage.
ETH Forecast
The base case is consolidation between $2,350 and $2,565 with a neutral short-term bias and moderately constructive medium-term structure. CPI at or below consensus would increase the probability of a recovery through $2,500 toward $2,550-$2,565, while a confirmed breakout would expose $2,700-$2,800 and keep the longer-term $3,050 technical objective active. A sustained close below $2,350 would invalidate the bull-flag structure and increase downside risk toward $2,250-$2,300.
XRP Market Analysis
XRP Narrative
XRP is trading near $1.34 after falling approximately 3.8% over 24 hours and 8% over seven days, making it the weakest performer among Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP in the current macro correction. CoinGlass places XRP futures open interest near $2.91 billion, 24-hour futures turnover around $3.54 billion, and spot volume near $750 million. Approximately $12.2 million of XRP futures positions were liquidated during the latest 24-hour period.
The decline has pushed XRP below the $1.35-$1.40 consolidation zone that contained most of its early-September trading. The token remains significantly above the approximately $1.00 region that preceded August’s institutional repricing, but the correction from the late-August high near $1.70 has now exceeded 20%.
Regulated fund demand continues to contrast with spot weakness. SoSoValue data showed approximately $12.29 million of XRP ETF inflows for the September 9 U.S. session. Bitwise attracted roughly $9.3 million and Grayscale approximately $3 million, with no major XRP spot fund reporting a redemption in that dataset.
Cumulative U.S. XRP ETF subscriptions reached approximately $1.70 billion after the session, while combined net assets stood near $1.51 billion. The asset-value figure remains below cumulative subscriptions partly because XRP’s price has declined materially from levels at which some fund shares were created.
The price-flow divergence is increasingly important. Institutional ETF investors continue adding XRP during weakness, yet those subscriptions have not been large enough to offset selling from existing holders and derivatives participants. That behavior supports a longer-duration accumulation thesis but does not guarantee an immediate price floor.
The derivatives reset is comparatively advanced. Open interest has declined to approximately $2.91 billion from roughly $3.7-$3.8 billion around the late-August high. The contraction removes a significant portion of the speculative leverage that contributed to XRP’s rapid move toward $1.70.
Futures turnover is approximately 4.7 times reported spot activity, substantially below Bitcoin’s ratio and less than half Ethereum’s current ratio. XRP therefore has a relatively larger cash-market component in price discovery even though derivatives remain an important amplifier of short-term moves.
The macro environment remains the principal risk. XRP historically exhibits higher beta than Bitcoin and tends to react more aggressively to tightening financial conditions. A 10-year Treasury yield near 5%, crude oil above $100, and a 70% probability of a Federal Reserve increase create an unfavorable environment for a token still digesting large August gains.
The institutional infrastructure thesis remains intact despite the correction. XRP ETFs continue attracting capital, regulated products have accumulated substantial token exposure, and conventional financial firms are increasingly using crypto-linked securities within established brokerage and financing systems. Those structural changes improve long-term accessibility even when spot momentum remains negative.
The immediate question is whether CPI allows macro pressure to ease before XRP breaks the $1.30 region. With leverage already materially lower than its August peak, a softer inflation report could produce a disproportionate rebound. A hot report would test whether regulated fund demand is large enough to absorb another wave of high-beta selling.
XRP Technical & Liquidity Structure
Immediate support is concentrated between $1.32 and $1.34. XRP is trading directly inside this region after breaking the $1.35 support area. A successful defense would indicate that the latest macro-driven liquidation wave is beginning to exhaust itself.
The stronger structural support lies between $1.28 and $1.30. This corridor represents the next major liquidity area below current price and is likely to attract both tactical buyers and longer-duration institutional interest if another CPI-driven decline develops.
Below $1.28, the next major demand region lies between $1.20 and $1.25. A sustained daily close below $1.20 would materially weaken the August recovery and indicate that ETF inflows are insufficient to prevent a broader retracement.
Immediate resistance has shifted to $1.35-$1.38. XRP must first recover this former support corridor before attempting to reclaim the psychological $1.40 level.
Above $1.40, resistance is concentrated between $1.42 and $1.45, followed by the stronger $1.48-$1.50 continuation threshold. A daily close above $1.50 would materially improve momentum and reopen $1.55-$1.60.
The liquidity structure is cleaner than it was during the August peak because open interest has declined by more than $700 million from its recent high. Continued ETF inflows combined with stabilization above $1.28-$1.32 would create a more credible institutional accumulation base than another rapid rebound funded primarily through derivatives.
XRP Forecast
The base case is volatile consolidation between $1.28 and $1.40 with a defensive short-term bias while XRP remains below $1.35-$1.38. A softer CPI report could support a recovery through $1.38 toward $1.40-$1.45, while a confirmed close above $1.50 would restore a more constructive expansionary structure. A hot CPI print and additional increases in Treasury yields would raise the probability of a test of $1.28-$1.30. A sustained break below $1.28 would expose $1.20-$1.25 and materially weaken the August institutional recovery.

Final Assessment
The digital-asset market enters September 11 with its August institutional recovery facing its most significant macro test to date. Bitcoin has fallen below $77,000 as producer inflation accelerated to 5.4%, Brent crude settled at $107.63, and the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield approached 5%, pushing the probability of a Federal Reserve rate increase to approximately 70%. Bitcoin derivatives open interest has declined toward $53 billion and more than $121 million of BTC positions were liquidated over 24 hours, while ETF demand has weakened across consecutive sessions. Ethereum remains above the critical $2,350-$2,360 bull-flag invalidation zone and continues to show comparatively resilient institutional flows, while XRP has declined toward $1.34 even as regulated funds continue accumulating and derivatives open interest falls below $3 billion.
The August CPI report due at 21:30 Tokyo time is now the decisive near-term catalyst. A headline result near or below the roughly 3.4% annual consensus, particularly alongside contained core inflation, could challenge the current 70% Federal Reserve hike probability, ease Treasury yields, and allow Bitcoin to recover toward $78,500-$80,000, Ethereum toward $2,500-$2,565, and XRP toward $1.38-$1.45. A hotter CPI result would arrive with oil already above $100, a Treasury buyback that failed to restrain long-end yields, and still-elevated derivatives exposure, increasing the probability of Bitcoin testing $75,500 and potentially $72,000, Ethereum testing the critical $2,350 support area, and XRP moving toward $1.28-$1.30. The medium-term institutional thesis remains intact, but until inflation and bond yields stabilize, cash-market demand rather than leverage will need to carry the next sustainable crypto advance.
