Strive announces its recent acquisition of 1,375 Bitcoin (BTC) between August 31 and September 8, 2026; this has expanded its holdings to 24,531 BTC.

What is Strive?

Strive is an asset management company that provides daily dividends to investors in their stock—a pioneering business model that sets it apart from traditional investment houses. As of the time of writing, its yearly yield stands at 13%; and this is divided among working days of the year.

A Crypto-First Strategy

It has shifted its model to a crypto-first strategy, which, according to Strive, allows for the expression of “the company’s conviction that Bitcoin is the purest expression of what Strive has always stood for—capitalism, meritocracy, innovation, and financial liberty.” Recently, it has furthered this strategy by merging with Asset Entities to adopt a cryptocurrency investment framework; and even more recently, its acquisition of True North and merger with Semler Scientific has put Strive on the top ten list of Bitcoin holders.

So far, the model has worked in favor of Strive: its yearly dividend still stands at a steady 13%, and it has weathered the volatility and fluctuations of Bitcoin by holding rather than short-term trading the virtual asset. Its purchase of Bitcoin averaged 79,000 US Dollars per token—higher than the six-month moving average of 72,000 US Dollars, but significantly lower than its peak of 126,000 US Dollars.

Although its strategy is crypto-first, Strive still holds a large chunk of other stocks: 401(k)s, Funds, Treasury Bonds, and so on. This, according to analysts, are hedges that protect the company from the fluctuations of Bitcoin value alongside the strategy of long-term holding.

Bitcoin’s Relevance in Asset Management Firms

Publicly traded companies hold approximately 6% of the Bitcoin supply. This is driven by the opportunity of holding virtual assets in diversifying their respective portfolios. Though this does not necessarily reflect that companies are crypto-first, this marks a shift towards the acknowledgement of the value of cryptocurrency. There are firms that are key holders of virtual assets—one of which is Strive.

In companies that are crypto-first in strategy, there lies the speculation of the detailed theses that are kept behind closed doors. What is certain is that through the continual purchase of BTC by companies by Strive, BTC’s relevance in the corporate strategy of delivering value to shareholders is bolstered. Strive may be a whale in the world of cryptocurrency, but we must follow the overall movement of other asset management firms to get the clearest picture of what this implies for the broader market.
