Bitwise, a U.S. cryptocurrency asset management with estimated $11 billion in assets under management, reported that it will take over the investment management of USCC, a tokenized crypto fund by Superstate and will be renamed to “Bitwise Crypto Carry Fund,” and the customer asset management knowledge will be promoted as part of the transition.
USCC has managed $260 million in assets and offers more than 100 institutional investors. The share of USCC was held collateral in on-chain markets, showing its attention on institutional-grade cooperation and yield generation strategies.
The collaboration is primarily to expand institutional adoption of Bitwise products and to reinforce its place in the digital asset space.
According to Coin post, Superstate, founded by Compound co-founder Robert Leshner, is a U.S. SEC-registered transfer agent that offers an on-chain financial infrastructure with FundOS framework. This framework handles tokenized funds issuances, record-keeping, and operational compliance to blockchain-based funds.
Moreover, the USCC collaboration marks its third major asset manager to embrace Superstate’s FundOS, after its integration with Invesco and Coinbase Asset Management.
Leveraging DeFi over Traditional Finance
Tokenized funds offer instant settlement, compatibility with stablecoins, and on-chain transfer in a regulatory compliant form relatively to Traditional off-chain funds. In the same instance, the fund shares can be leveraged as direct collateral within DeFi protocols, as emerging generations in financial infrastructure that substantially enhance capital efficiency.
The USSC’s assets are utilized as collateral in major DeFi protocols such as Abe Horizon and Camino, facilitating versatile operations as compared with traditional off-chain funds.
Thus, Bitwise on-chain native investment strategies are projected to strengthen its on-chain investment strategies and improve its access to tokenized financial products in the market. The merging of traditional asset management with blockchain infrastructure emphasizes the increasing integration of traditional off-chain funds and decentralized finance.
