Ether (ETH) has staged a sharp rebound, climbing nearly 31% in a week to trade just below $2,465, its April high.
Technical indicators suggest momentum is strong, but analysts caution that consolidation may follow before further gains.
A Rebound after Drop
Ether’s recovery comes after months of weakness driven by a strong U.S. dollar. The catalyst for the rebound was a U.S. Treasury bond buyback announcement, which weakened the dollar and boosted risk assets.
As a result, Ethereum erased four months of losses, surging from below $1,900 to a high of $2,525 before settling near $2,480. This rally has placed ETH back at levels last seen in April, with traders now watching whether it can break resistance at $2,464.54.
Charts show Ethereum consolidating just below its April high, with resistance capping gains for now. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is in overbought territory, suggesting the market may pause as early buyers take profits.
Analysts note that if ETH breaks above $2,465, upside targets include $2,775–$2,825, then $3,040–$3,070, and potentially $3,400–$3,450. On the downside, a fall below $2,200 would undermine bullish sentiment and signal a deeper correction.
Market Factors and ETH’s Drive
Ethereum’s rebound demonstrates the interplay between macro conditions and crypto markets. The weakening dollar provided a tailwind, but exchange-traded fund (ETF) inflows and institutional buying also played a role.
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $697 million in weekly inflows, led by BlackRock’s ETHA, marking the strongest week of 2026.
Corporate treasuries, such as BitMine, expanded ETH holdings, with over 87% staked, reinforcing long‑term confidence. This combination of macro relief, institutional demand, and optimism around Ethereum’s upcoming “Glamsterdam” upgrade has fueled the rally.
However, the elevated futures open interest—$32.48 billion, up 20% in 30 days—suggests leverage risk is high, meaning volatility could intensify if sentiment shifts.
Traders are Observing the Trend
Ethereum’s rebound offers both opportunity and caution for traders. The upside potential is clear if resistance is broken, but overbought momentum signals a likely consolidation phase. To long‑term investors, the rally shows Ethereum’s resilience and its ability to attract institutional capital even amid macro uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Ethereum’s recovery strengthens confidence in altcoins, particularly as Bitcoin consolidates near $69,000. The strong ETF inflows also suggest that regulated investment products are becoming a key driver of liquidity, bridging traditional finance and digital assets.
The coming weeks are expected to be decisive: a break above $2,465 could open the path to $3,000 and beyond, while failure to hold above $2,200 would signal renewed weakness.
Ethereum’s trajectory thus reflects both its growing maturity as a global asset and the persistent volatility that defines crypto markets.
