Market Overview
Digital asset markets entered August 6 with Bitcoin trading near $64,640, Ethereum around $1,908, and XRP close to $1.06. Bitcoin has recovered from an intraday low near $63,887 and briefly approached $64,930, while Ethereum has rebounded materially from the lower levels indicated by fragmented overnight pricing feeds. XRP remains the weakest of the three assets on a relative basis, holding immediately above the $1.05 support corridor.
The market’s primary positive signal is the return of institutional demand through U.S. spot exchange-traded funds. Farside Investors recorded $170.1 million of net Bitcoin ETF inflows on August 3 and $211.5 million on August 4. Preliminary August 5 data showed another $13.4 million of inflows from the funds that had reported, indicating that regulated demand has remained positive for at least three consecutive sessions.
Ether funds also recovered. Farside Investors reported a $53.1 million net inflow on August 4 after an $11.9 million outflow on August 3. Preliminary August 5 data showed a further $1.4 million inflow, although the latest total remained incomplete at the time of publication.
The renewed ETF demand has not yet produced a broad speculative expansion. Bitcoin has underperformed a recent rally in U.S. small-cap and technology shares, while Ethereum and XRP derivatives data continue to show declining or restrained leverage. The divergence suggests that institutional buyers are selectively rebuilding exposure, but crypto-native traders remain cautious.
Geopolitical risk continues to cap conviction. Barron’s reported on August 5 that Bitcoin remained sensitive to uncertainty surrounding U.S.-Iran negotiations, the Strait of Hormuz, and the possibility of renewed military escalation. Energy-market disruption would be negative for liquidity-sensitive assets through higher inflation expectations and Treasury yields.
Sentiment remains neutral to defensive rather than capitulatory. The market has absorbed adverse security, corporate-treasury, and regulatory headlines without returning to the June lows. At the same time, Bitcoin remains below $65,500, Ethereum has yet to sustain a move above $2,000, and XRP is testing support while its futures open interest contracts.
Bitcoin Market Analysis
BTC Narrative
Bitcoin remains the principal institutional liquidity benchmark and is trading near $64,640 after recovering from the upper-$63,000 region. The latest move is supported by three consecutive sessions of positive or provisionally positive ETF flows, creating the clearest regulated demand sequence since the mid-July recovery.
The scale of the August 3 and August 4 inflows is significant. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted a combined $381.6 million over those two sessions, led primarily by BlackRock’s IBIT. On August 4 alone, IBIT received $170.3 million, Fidelity’s FBTC added $19.6 million, Bitwise’s BITB attracted $8.7 million, ARKB added $9.2 million, and Grayscale’s lower-fee Bitcoin product received $3.7 million.
Preliminary August 5 reporting added another $13.4 million, although several large issuers had not yet published their results. The incomplete data should not be treated as a finalized daily total, but the positive direction indicates that institutional demand had not reversed during the latest consolidation.
The flow recovery follows a volatile end to July. Bitcoin ETFs attracted $233.1 million on July 30 before losing $265.4 million on July 31. The current sequence is therefore constructive, but several additional completed sessions are required before the market can classify it as strategic accumulation rather than tactical dip buying.
Bitcoin is also absorbing pressure from corporate and security headlines. Strategy sold 1,638 BTC between July 27 and August 2 as part of its capital-management program, weakening the assumption that the largest corporate holder will always operate as a one-way buyer. A separate hardware-wallet vulnerability reportedly resulted in the theft of more than 1,000 BTC, reinforcing the distinction between Bitcoin protocol security and weaknesses in third-party custody systems.
Derivatives conditions remain comparatively balanced. Open interest and CME participation are below the more aggressive levels recorded during previous rallies, while funding has not displayed persistent speculative excess. This reduces the immediate probability of a crowded-long liquidation but also shows that leveraged traders have not yet confirmed the ETF-led recovery.
BTC Technical & Liquidity Structure
Immediate support is concentrated between $63,800 and $64,000, corresponding to the latest intraday low and the lower boundary of the short-term recovery range. A sustained close below this corridor would expose the secondary demand zone between $62,500 and $63,000.
The stronger structural support remains between $60,000 and $61,500. A high-volume break below $60,000 would materially weaken the recovery from the June lows and expose the $57,500 to $58,500 region.
Initial resistance is located between $64,900 and $65,500. Bitcoin must establish acceptance above $65,500 before the July swing area between $66,500 and $67,000 becomes a credible target. A confirmed break above $67,000 would expose $68,000, followed by the options-sensitive $70,000 region.
Bitcoin’s liquidity structure is improving. Consecutive ETF inflows provide recurring cash-market demand, while relatively moderate leverage reduces the risk that the advance is being financed entirely through perpetual futures. The remaining weakness is limited spot-market participation outside regulated products, which may make the market dependent on continued ETF buying.
BTC Forecast
The base case is consolidation between $62,500 and $67,000 with a moderately constructive bias while Bitcoin holds above $63,800. Acceptance above $65,500 and another sequence of positive ETF sessions would improve the probability of a move toward $67,000 and $68,000. A close below $62,500 would return attention to $60,000, while a sustained loss of $60,000 would reopen the June low region.
Ethereum Market Analysis
ETH Narrative
Ethereum is trading near $1,908 and has recovered above the $1,900 threshold after a period of fragmented and volatile pricing. The rebound restores part of the late-July structure but remains insufficient to confirm a return to sustained institutional leadership.
The ETF channel improved materially on August 4. U.S. spot Ether ETFs attracted $53.1 million, led by $42.5 million into BlackRock’s ETHA and $9.3 million into Fidelity’s FETH. The session reversed the $11.9 million outflow recorded on August 3 and represented the strongest completed Ether ETF result since late July.
Preliminary August 5 data showed another $1.4 million inflow, although the figure remained incomplete. The sequence suggests that institutions are selectively rebuilding Ethereum exposure after the July correction, but total demand remains smaller and less consistent than the Bitcoin ETF channel.
Ethereum’s institutional narrative remains linked to stablecoin settlement, tokenized financial assets, decentralized finance, staking, and corporate treasury exposure. These structural use cases differentiate Ethereum from purely monetary crypto assets, but they have not prevented higher price beta during periods of declining market liquidity.
Derivatives markets remain large relative to spot activity. CoinGlass recently placed Ethereum futures open interest near $26.7 billion, with approximately $35.7 billion of 24-hour futures volume compared with about $1.46 billion in spot volume. Roughly $50.7 million of Ether futures positions were liquidated during the same reporting period.
The extreme difference between futures and spot turnover shows that short-term price discovery remains leverage-sensitive. The current recovery will be more durable if open interest remains stable while ETF and cash-market demand improve. A rapid increase in futures exposure without equivalent spot participation would increase the risk of another reversal.
ETH Technical & Liquidity Structure
Immediate support is located between $1,875 and $1,900. Holding this corridor would preserve Ethereum’s latest recovery. A sustained move below $1,875 would expose the stronger demand zone between $1,800 and $1,850.
Below $1,800, the next structural support areas are located near $1,700 and $1,600. The broad range between $1,600 and $1,700 remains relevant because it attracted buyers during the earlier summer deleveraging phase.
Initial resistance is concentrated between $1,925 and $1,950. A confirmed close above $1,950 would expose the psychological $2,000 threshold. Above $2,000, the next meaningful institutional supply area remains between $2,050 and $2,150.
Ethereum’s liquidity profile is improving but remains more leverage-sensitive than Bitcoin’s. ETF inflows and constrained exchange supply provide support, while the large futures-to-spot volume ratio increases the probability of rapid moves when support or resistance fails.
ETH Forecast
The base case is consolidation between $1,800 and $2,000 with a neutral-to-constructive bias above $1,875. A close above $1,950 would improve the probability of a test of $2,000, while continued ETF inflows could extend the recovery toward $2,100. A sustained loss of $1,800 would return Ethereum to a defensive regime and expose $1,700.
XRP Market Analysis
XRP Narrative
XRP is trading near $1.06 and continues to test the lower boundary of its summer range. The asset remains above the psychological $1.00 level but below the $1.10 threshold required to establish a stronger recovery.
The institutional fund backdrop remains constructive. U.S. spot XRP products recorded positive flows on July 29, July 30, July 31, and August 3 before posting a flat result on August 4. The preceding completed sessions included approximately $584,710 on July 29, $5.98 million on July 30, $7.69 million on July 31, and $1.15 million on August 3.
XRP Insights reported that seven U.S. spot XRP ETFs held approximately $1 billion in combined assets and 992.4 million XRP as of August 5. The products collectively control about 0.99% of XRP’s maximum supply and are close to the milestone of 1 billion tokens held in regulated custody.
The holdings provide a meaningful institutional ownership base but do not eliminate near-term price risk. ETF turnover remains small relative to crypto-native trading, and the market value of the funds can decline even when the number of XRP tokens held remains stable or rises.
Derivatives leverage has fallen materially. Crypto.news reported on August 5 that XRP futures open interest had declined to approximately $2.25 billion, a six-month low, while futures volume was near $1.35 billion. Open interest fell about 5.6% over 24 hours, indicating that leveraged positions were continuing to unwind.
Funding remained close to neutral and liquidations were comparatively balanced, suggesting a positioning reset rather than forced capitulation. Lower leverage reduces the risk of an immediate liquidation cascade, but it also shows that traders have limited conviction in an upside breakout.
XRP Technical & Liquidity Structure
Immediate support is concentrated between $1.05 and $1.06. This corridor has repeatedly attracted buyers since late June and remains the first defense against a test of psychological parity.
A sustained close below $1.05 would expose $1.00. Below parity, the next meaningful liquidity area is located between $0.95 and $0.98. A high-volume break below $0.95 would materially weaken XRP’s medium-term institutional accumulation narrative.
Initial resistance is located between $1.08 and $1.10. XRP must establish acceptance above $1.10 before the market can target $1.12 to $1.15. Above $1.15, the stronger technical and institutional supply region remains between $1.18 and $1.20.
XRP’s liquidity structure is becoming less fragile as open interest declines and funding returns toward neutral. ETF custody continues to absorb part of the available supply, but spot participation must strengthen before the lower-leverage structure can translate into a durable price recovery.
XRP Forecast
The base case is consolidation between $1.00 and $1.10 with a neutral-to-defensive bias while XRP remains below $1.08. A confirmed close above $1.10 would restore a neutral outlook and expose $1.15. A sustained loss of $1.00 would increase downside risk toward $0.95, while continued ETF accumulation and stable derivatives positioning could support a floor near $1.05.

Final Assessment
The digital-asset market is showing a more credible institutional recovery than it did at the beginning of the week. Bitcoin ETF inflows totaled more than $380 million across August 3 and August 4, Ethereum funds returned to meaningful positive territory, and XRP products continued holding almost 1 billion tokens. The improvement is supported by restrained leverage rather than speculative excess, which reduces the immediate risk of a broad liquidation event.
Bitcoin retains the strongest structure but must close above $65,500 to confirm a move toward $67,000 and $68,000. Ethereum has recovered above $1,900, although its futures market remains substantially larger than spot activity and leaves the asset vulnerable below $1,875. XRP is undergoing an orderly positioning reset near $1.05, with lower open interest reducing fragility but also signaling weak directional conviction. The prevailing regime is selectively constructive and ETF-supported, with Bitcoin’s $62,500 support, Ethereum’s $1,800 level, and XRP’s $1.00 threshold defining the principal downside risks.
