Ripple noted that the deal will scale its institutional network with transfer agency, token issuance, trading, and collateral mobility capabilities.
The company did not report investment details or ownership stakes, although both companies verified the funding. ZILO introduced a digital asset and transfer agency network, while Licuido mentioned that Ripple’s support would scale its XLRP network.
New Tokenization Infrastructure
ZILO delivers fund management and transfer agency technology, with a new network that allows institutions to manage traditional and tokenized funds by a single system such as issuance, settlement, payments, reconciliation, and reporting.
Licuido’s network backs token issuance, distribution, and trading, with tokenized fund units usable as collateral within institutional workflows.
ZILO’s metrics convert fund rules and regulatory requirements into onchain logic while monitoring controls against legal ownership transfers.
Luicido highlights that the tokens represent one-for-one fund ownership, subject to product documentation and regulatory treatment.
RLUSD and XRPL Strategy
Ripple initiative aims to leverage RLUSD for delivery against payment transactions, enabling tokenized assets and payments to settle along with XRPL.
Ripple also noted that XRPL has processed more than four billion transactions, backs up more than seven million wallets, and is retained by 120 independent validators. These figures show the overall ledger activity but do not directly cover institutional adoption of tokenized funds.
The companies have not reported transaction volumes, clients, or evidence of large-scale institutional adoption.
Nigel Khakoo noted that the investment industry represents a significant long-term opportunity, but the projection remains a company forecast rather than a confirmed outcome.
Market Expansion
Aviva Investors introduced a tokenized US Dollar Liquidity Fund share class on XRPL on July 29, offering its collaboration with Ripple into production. Ripple noted ZILO and Licuido back tokenized fund issuance, distribution, custody, and related services.
The approach follows similar initiatives such as DBS and Frankilin Templeton, such as the use of tokenized fund units as collateral.
These initiatives deliver an institutional environment where ZILO’s record systems, and Licuido’s market tools can be tested. However, Ripple has not reported yet that the companies will support all Aviva, Franklin Templeton, or DBS products.
Implementation Outlook
The future outlook relies on integration and client launces. ZILO and Licuido have not delivered implementation timelines or confirmed participating funds.
Additional reporting will be demanded to evaluate product implementation, regulated activity, transaction volumes, and RLUSD settlement usage.
At present, Ripple’s investments expand Ripple’s network but not yet demonstrate confirmed implementation at scale, revenue growth, or increased liquidity.
