Exclusive Infrastructure at the World Cup
Prediction market platform Myriad announced on June 10 that it has adopted Chainlink as its exclusive oracle infrastructure for the 2026 FIFA World Cup match prediction market. Chainlink will be automating the market settlement and settlement process for match results.
The expansion of Myriad’s Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) will be realizing this integration, which is already used to operate the cryptocurrency price market. Aiming to remove manual processing delays that have been a problem on some prediction platforms, CRE will handle market settlement and settlement for all matches at the World Cup.
Users buy and sell shares linked to the outcome of future events, with prices ranging from $0 to $1, at the prediction market, a mechanism that reflects probabilities.
With Polymarket and Karshi achieving multi-billion dollar valuations, this sector has rapidly expanded over the past two years.
Instant Settlement
Co-founder and COO of Myriad, Iran Hazan, stated, “The World Cup is the biggest stage in sports, and Myriad was built precisely for this moment.” Immediate market settlements and instant payouts to users close to the end of a match are enabled by the integration with Chainlink. They added, “We gain the reliability of turning first-time users into long-term users.”
Head of Strategic Initiatives at Chainlink Labs William Riley stated that the tamper-proof auditability of Chainlink’s blockchain-based oracle contributes to “reducing disputes related to payments.” To provide services to soccer fans worldwide, it will enable accurate, high-speed payments, and instant payouts.
A trading contest worth $100,000 targeting the World Cup market will also be simultaneously held by Myriad. The prizes to be received range from $20,000, $10,000, and $5,000, with the remaining $10,000 distributed among the lower-placed winners. A weekly $5,000 reward pool will be set up during the contest period for market makers. The leaderboard is reset on a weekly basis.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will start on Friday, June 12, at 4:00 AM (Japan time) with the ‘Mexico vs. South Africa’ match.
